Our Classic™ round or square wood columns and pilasters are provided with hand cast and crisply detailed industrial grade fiber reinforced plaster composition capitals. Each capital is hand detailed, fired at high temperatures to harden composition, and sealed with water sealer prior to being carefully packaged for shipment. For historical restoration, Melton Classics artisans can create a mold from as little as one-fourth of an existing capital. Additionally, wooden capitals can be hand-carved to complement the broad line of Hardwood Classic™ stain grade columns and pilasters in your choice of wood species. DuraClassic™ round columns are provided with poly/marble composite or load bearing fiberglass ornamental capitals, depending on column size. MarbleTex™ round columns are provided with ornamental capitals and attic bases cast from our exclusive synthetic stone composite with integral coloration that requires no painting. FRP Classic™ columns are provided with capitals & bases molded from the same material as our column shafts. The capitals and bases are molded from state of the art fiberglass which is composed of fiber reinforced flame retardant resins which supply a Class A fire rating and low smoke density.
